USB & SUV Drives
Head to the store and buy your last CD album. Technology is moving faster than the speed of light. First we had floppy discs, then CDs and now USBs and SUVs. USBs and SUVs will eventually be replaced by something newer and better. Most new cars already come with USB ports. Who knows? Perhaps we’ll have wireless iPods in the future. We wouldn’t need to insert or hook up a thing. Information will be so readily available that all you’d need is a receiver. They were a good deal when they first came out but not any longer. I guess people are finding out how hard is to park them or get them through tight spaces. Although ‘some say’ you don’t get hurt in an accident if you drive an SUV, it’s always good to look at the other side of the coin. The other driver(s) involved in the accident will sustain more serious injuries if you drive an SUV. Sadly, SUVs pollute twice as much of the environment. Larger SUVs have an occupant death statistic that is 8 percent higher than cars. The car industry’s advertising has been highly effective in making us believe otherwise.
USB drives are quickly becoming crowd-pleasing these days and will eventually supplant CDs. People get all nostalgic about it but the truth is sooner or later your CD albums will play nowhere. It happened with the floppy disks and it’ll probably happen with the USBs in the near future. Remember, floppy disks became available in 1971, only 42 years ago. CDs came out 10 years later.
