411 Pain’s Crusade For Education

Thanks to 411 Pain’s significant sponsorship presentation, a star-studded charity basketball game was organized by Miami Heat Players, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh in an effort to raise money for Mary’s Court, a foundation created by hall of famer and FIU basketball coach Isaiah Thomas and his wife. They donated $50,000 to the First Generation Scholarship Fund. That $50,000 donation was matched by a donation by the program itself. It is the only program of its kind to match private donations with an equal one. 411 Pain’s significant sponsorship contributions allow for events such as this to continue their services to the community. Thomas was quoted as saying   “Our vision for this foundation is to serve economically disadvantaged youth by facilitating academic pursuits, providing opportunities for character and social development, nutritional and physical health, safety, and encouraging parental involvement. We are proud to provide critical scholarship support to students at FIU who will be the first in their families to earn a college degree and we are deeply appreciative of 411 Pain’s generous contributions to our cause.”
Nearly 40 percent of FIU students will be the first generation in their family to attain a college degree. This fall, about 600 students received scholarships that will continue to allow this to happen. 411 Pain’s sponsorship opportunities continue to make events and programs like this possible. “1-800-411-PAIN is proud to continue our commitment to education by supporting Thomas and his Mary’s Court Foundation,” said company owner Robert Lewin.
411 Pain’s commitment to education is further demonstrated through their efforts to fight illiteracy. For years, 411 Pain has been very involved with ending illiteracy in South Florida and throughout the nation. The Scholastic Read and Rise Literacy Campaign has collaborated with 411Pain in an effort to bring about more awareness of the prevalence of illiteracy in today’s youth. They have organized events focused on getting kids more interested in reading and excited about learning! 411 Pain has also participated in fundraising events at book fairs designed to ensure that every child attending receives a five-dollar gift certificate. This is done in hopes of ensuring every child who attends leaves with a book.
411 Pain is pleased to be of such service to their community, but is also very excited to be so involved in supporting national efforts to increase educational opportunities for today’s youth.
